Hi, I’m Amanda!
I’m an illustrator with a passion for diversity, empowerment, and all things girly! When I’m not drawing, I’m usually cooking, snacking, painting, making jewelry, snuggling with my dog, and exploring the world!
I graduated from the University of California, Long Beach with a Bachelors of Arts in Fashion Design. I loved all my studies so much, and I even took a few graphic design classes that I absolutely loved.
After graduation, before heading into the “real world”, I wanted to take some time to see the…REAL world! I traveled to Thailand and spent a month volunteering in a small mountain village to help study the rehabilitation of elephants rescued from tourism camps. I then spent two weeks exploring Japan and climbing Mt. Fuji in an overnight solo hike. In 2017, I began a 14 month contract working as a performer at Hong Kong Disneyland. During these 14 months, I traveled to 9 countries and really fell in love with how diverse and incredible our Earth is.
I then spent the next few years as a graphic designer working on stickers, stationery, planners and other printed products for products sold in major retail stores domestically and internationally.
After developing an “exceedingly rare” bone disease in my hand, one of my bones died and I went through 3 surgeries and a 2 year healing process, which is when I started taking illustration more seriously! What can an artist do with only one functional hand? She can draw! I dedicated my time to study and practice to become a professional artist. I am so glad I learned the skills to become an illustrator, it is my most fulfilling career so far!
